Treat yourself or someone special to a box of these delicious and beautifully gift-packaged artisan bonbons. These are hand-painted, hand-tempered and hand-crafted chocolates made in Dorset.
March celebrates Women’s History Month, International Women’s Day on Sat 8th, and Mother’s Day on Sun 30th.
And so, our popular “Women in History” themed chocolates return! Celebrating fierce and fantastic females who altered the course of history. From science, aviation, civil rights to sports, these four flavours are inspired by four trailblazing and strong women who lead the way for change.
This month’s theme is something that we are passionate about and is very close to our hearts, and so we hope you enjoy these flavours as much as we enjoyed creating them!
Marie Curie - Poppyseed Cheesecake - Vanilla bean and cream cheese ganache atop a house-made poppyseed praline
Marie Curie founded the science of radioactivity and her discoveries launched effective cures for cancer. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, the first female professor at the University of Paris and the first person to win a Nobel Prize twice.
Sarojini Naidu - Milky Chai - Valrhona Jivara milk chocolate ganache, infused with warming cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger, allspice and nutmeg
Sarojini Naidu was an Indian independence activist, poet, and the first woman to become the president of the Indian National Congress. Known as the "Nightingale of India" for her lyrical poetry, she played a key role in India's freedom movement and later became the first woman to serve as a governor in independent India.
Bessie Coleman - Peach Cobbler - Peach gel paired with a brown butter biscuit base, wrapped in caramelised white chocolate
Bessie Coleman was the first African American woman and the first Native American woman to earn a pilot’s license in 1921. She overcame significant racial and gender barriers and became a pioneering aviator, known for performing in airshows and advocating for equal opportunities for Black people and women in aviation.
Hélène de Pourtalès - Sea Salt & Caraibe - Dorset sea salt caramel blended with Valrhona Caraibe 66% dark chocolate
Hélène de Pourtalès was the first woman to win an Olympic medal. She won gold AND silver in sailing at the 1900 Olympics, the first Games where women were allowed to compete and where only five events were open to women.
PLEASE NOTE: This item is for pre-order only. Our March selection will be made on the first week of March, for first dispatch commencing Monday 10th March. Any orders placed alongside this will be dispatched at the same time. For any products you would like before this date, please place a separate order - thank you!
All orders come with a handwritten gift note option in our very own greeting card. The perfect personal touch when you’re sending a chocolate-y treat to a loved one.
Always with sustainability in mind, our boxes, cards and packing tape are fully recyclable, while our clear bags and packaging peanuts are biodegradable and compostable.
Transparency: Due to the current global cocoa shortage (you can read more about that in our blog post here), we’ve unfortunately had to put our prices up. One thing that we did not want to compromise on is our quality, so we did not want to use cheaper alternatives with lesser quality of flavour. We use Valrhona, which is B-corp certified, ethical and highly-regarded as the best couverture chocolate in the professional and chef world. We hope our customers can understand and continue to support us.
